Hey everyone, welcome to Tech After Dark, with the latest from the last few hours. I'm Nova, here with Ohm, our retro robot of big numbers, Hopper, our moth who swoons at screens, and Cache, our pack rat of past prices. Four stories, starting with a new Poco phone and a huge battery. Hello, hello! Xiaomi's launched the Poco X8s globally, and on the big board: a 6,330 milliamp hour battery with 100 watt wired charging!

My 1990s battery pack could never. Ohm, the screen! A 6.35 inch amoled, 1 to 120 hertz variable refresh rate and 3,500 nits peak brightness, so it should stay readable in bright sun. Plus a 50 megapixel main camera and a 50 megapixel telephoto. Deal check! So far it's only official in Vietnam, from 10,990,000 Vietnamese dong with 8 gigabytes of R A M and 256 gigabytes of storage. Other markets? Xiaomi hasn't confirmed pricing yet.

Fine print, Cache. Notebookcheck notes both versions use LPDDR4X R A M and U F S 2.2 storage, which, if you ask me, isn't the newest kind. It does come in black, blue and white, though. Okay, fitness trackers. The Verge's Victoria Song reviewed the Fitbit Edge, and her headline? Everything old is new again. A Fitbit review! Hopper, you love a display. What's she make of the look? She says the bezels aren't that noticeable with other watch faces, but some things don't change.

Honest. And a tiny bit heartbreaking. She even opens with True Detective. Time is a flat circle. Our notes only cover her opening, so read the full review, it's linked with the episode. Back to Xiaomi, and deal alert! The Smart Band 11 has landed in Europe, on sale in Spain for 59.99 euros. Fair warning, though, that's 20 percent more than the Smart Band 10. Ooh, the prizes, Cache! A 2,000 nit amoled display and up to 21 days of battery life!

And unlike the Smart Band 10, Europe gets an N F C version, for 79.99 euros. And there's the catch, Ohm. Notebookcheck says the N F C model costs 60 percent more than the regular Smart Band 10, and Xiaomi hasn't confirmed how far tap to pay support goes. Still, look at those three finishes on screen. Just don't hold out for the ceramic edition, it isn't on sale in Europe right now. Over in P C land, Lenovo's released the Chromebook m Gen 10 15 inch, a bigger alternative to its 14 inch model, with a built-in number pad.

It starts at 519.99 dollars in the U S and 719.99 Canadian dollars in Canada. Sixteen hours of battery life, Nova! That's in Google's Power Load Test, with a MediaTek Kompanio 540 chip, a 50 watt hour battery and up to 65 watt charging! Sixteen hours in Google's own test, Ohm. Not your actual day. And the 1200p screen peaks at 400 nits with 45 percent N T S C color coverage, so my bet is colors look a bit flat.

Oof, that's a little heartbreaking, Nova, and it's 60 hertz too. On the bright side, every market so far gets 8 gigabytes of R A M and 128 gigabytes of storage. That's the roundup, from Notebookcheck and The Verge, and the full posts are linked with the episode. See you next time.
