Just in on Tech After Dark, I'm Nova, here with Glitch. Notebookcheck finds the new Xiaomi Pad 9 tablet has shorter battery life than last year's Pad 8. Yes, shorter. Prices start at 525 dollars, Nova. And hey, the battery goes up, from 9,200 to 9,720 milliamp hours! Adorable. Notebookcheck measured over 4 watts at idle, against around 2 watts on the Pad 8. So, Glitch, how'd that work out? Oof. The Wi-Fi test ran a shorter 19.5 hours.

In my view, Pad 8 owners can skip it, though the overall rating's still strong. Notebookcheck's full review is linked. For Tech After Dark, see you next time.
