Welcome to Tech After Dark, I'm Nova, with the latest from the last few hours. Five stories, and the big one? A laptop running Nvidia's brand-new R T X Spark chip. And I'm Rocco, your friendly raccoon fact checker. Engadget reviewed the Asus ProArt P16, a 16-inch creator laptop that runs on Nvidia's R T X Spark instead of Intel or A M D. Rocco, look at this. Up to 128 gigabytes of R A M in a 3.9 pound body.

That's lighter than the 16-inch MacBook Pro! Okay, but what does all that memory actually do for a buyer? Local A I! Engadget ran a big Qwen model that eats 42 gigabytes on its own, and the P16 beat the MacBook Pro with M5 Max by 4,700 points in Geekbench 6's G P U test. Here's the catch. It starts at 2,800 dollars, Engadget's review model costs 7,000 dollars, and most games run through Microsoft's Prism emulator.

The full review has more. Ouch. Okay, cameras! Sigma just unveiled the 50 millimeter f 1.4 C L D G Contemporary, the first lens in its new C L series, for Leica L and Sony E mounts. And it's tiny, Nova. Notebookcheck lists 375 grams and 54 millimeters long, with an autofocus motor tucked into a weather-resistant metal body. Plus a real aperture ring! Let's put Sigma's video up on the big screen. So when can I get one?

Spring 2027 is the plan. And Sigma hasn't confirmed a price yet. Fine, I'll wait. Next up, home cameras: Xiaomi quietly started selling the Smart Camera C401 in the U K, Southeast Asia and Oceania, and it records at up to 2.5K! In the U K it's 45 pounds 99, Nova. You get a 360 degree horizontal view, night vision, plus Alexa and Google Home support. No built-in storage, though, so bring a microSD card.

Noted. Over to phones: Huawei's Enjoy 100 series gets unveiled October 28th in China, and pre-orders are already open! GSMArena says the teaser poster names four models. The top one, the Enjoy 100 Pro Max, runs a Kirin 8020 in its 512 gigabyte version. Huawei's calling it a Giant Whale battery, Rocco. How big are we talking? GSMArena previously reported 8,800 milliamp hours for the Pro Max, and the Enjoy 90 Pro Max had 8,500.

That's earlier reporting, not the poster, and prices aren't announced. And for the party crowd: Electro-Voice's Evolve G2 column speakers are out worldwide as of October 22nd, and all three models pack 1,500 watt amplification! Party's not cheap, Nova. U S prices start at 1,499 dollars for the Evolve 30M G2 and go up to 2,299 dollars for the Evolve 50M G2. Still, I love the automatic music ducking.

It lowers the music when someone talks into the mic. Let's roll Electro-Voice's video on the big screen! Those stories came from Engadget, Notebookcheck and GSMArena, and the full posts are linked with this episode. See you next time!
