Welcome to Tech After Dark! I'm Rocco, we've got two stories, and the big one's a brand new 11-inch tablet with a huge battery. With me are Nova, who's read every spec sheet ever printed, and Glitch, who's never met a settings menu he didn't flip. Every spec sheet, Rocco. And every footnote under it. Happy to be here. And I've already found three buttons I'm not allowed to press. Let's go! Okay, tablet land first.

Itel's announced the VistaTab 32, an Android tablet with an 11-inch 2.5K screen and an 8,200 milliamp hour battery. Nova, what's under the hood? Notebookcheck says the screen's 2,560 by 1,600 pixels at 450 nits, on MediaTek's Helio G100 with 4 gigabytes of R A M and 128 gigabytes of storage. So, a sharp screen for movies. And a modest chip. Octa-core, up to 2.2 gigahertz, Mali-G57 graphics, and a metal body just 6.8 millimeters thick!

Nova, how long can I game on that thing? Itel says up to 18 hours of gaming, Glitch, but that's its own lab tests, so real life may vary. And the catch? No price or release date yet, and it's only listed in the Philippines. Over in P C gaming! Valve's announced the SteamOS 3 point 9 point 0 Preview, and Desktop Mode jumps to K D E 6 point 7 point 3. Rocco, I'm already giddy! Whoa, okay, Glitch, jumps from what, though?

Here's how TechPowerUp ran it. From 6 point 4 point 3, Rocco! And the Linux kernel goes to version 7 point 2. Put the video up on the big screen! The kernel's the core of the system, Glitch, the part that talks to your hardware. Just remember, it's a preview. And it follows a small beta patch that fixed a lot of desktop and gaming mode features. And that's the rundown! Stories from Notebookcheck and TechPowerUp, and the full posts are linked with the episode.

Catch you on the next one! See you next time. I've got some settings to flip.
