Welcome to Tech After Dark, I'm Rocco! Four fresh stories from the last few hours, and one of them's a phone with a Guinness World Record. And I'm Nova, the one who reads the fine print. First up, Keychron just launched the Carbon 60 he 8K, a carbon fiber gaming keyboard. Carbon fiber! Wait, after wood, resin, ceramic and even concrete keyboards? Yep. And TechPowerUp calls this one ironically rather tame.
It's a 60 percent board on the same tray-mounted design as an earlier Keychron model. Over in rugged laptops, Getac just announced the B360X and B360X Pro. Two fully rugged notebooks! Rocco, who's actually buying these? Rescue crews, the military, utility workers. They run A I, maps and 3D tools right on the laptop, where there's no signal at all. Getac's Charlie Gibbs says A I's true value is out at the absolute edge, not in server rooms.
Here's the line. No specs or prices in the post, though. Back to phones. Vivo's new Y600 5G packs a 10,000 milliamp hour battery, and it set a Guinness World Record. A world record? For what, Nova? A nonstop livestream test of 32 hours and 37 minutes. The longest electronic product testing livestream. Okay, when can I get one? Pre-orders open October 26th in China, sales start October 30th. Price, memory, any launch outside China?
Not announced. Over in P C land, Dell's X P S 16 Creator Edition now sells worldwide, straight from Dell. Nova, what's inside? Nvidia R T X Spark N1X chips with 18 or 20 cores, up to 128 gigabytes of R A M, and a 99 watt hour battery. And the screen? A 3.2K oled that hits 1,600 nits in H D R, with a 30 to 120 hertz variable refresh rate, so scrolling stays smooth. Love it. Price? It starts at 3,799 dollars, with 32 gigabytes of R A M and 512 gigabytes of storage.
The 128 gigabyte model in the U S? 6,999 dollars. Okay, that's a borrow, not a buy. That's the roundup from TechPowerUp and Notebookcheck, full posts are linked with the episode. See you next time!
