Hey everyone, welcome to Tech After Dark, with the latest tech from the last few hours! I'm Rocco, your resident raccoon, and we've got two stories, starting with a C P U cooler that has its own screen. And I'm Nova, the cat who reads the spec sheets. TechPowerUp reports M S I just launched the M P G corefrozr AP15, its first air cooler with a display built right into the top cover. A cooler with a screen on top!
Here's the TechPowerUp post. Okay Nova, what's under the shiny lid? Two towers of different widths, six 6 millimeter copper heat pipes and a copper base. Up front you get two 120 millimeter fans, and the front one's rated at 2,000 R P M. Six heat pipes, nice. But is it loud? I like my shiny things quiet. Check this number: M S I rates the front fan at 31.1 decibels and the middle one at 25.06, so not silent, but not a jet engine either.
And it fits Intel L G A 1700 and 1851, plus A M D AM5 and AM4. So it fits, basically, my next build. Let's get M S I's video up on the big screen. Nova, how much do I need to borrow? Nothing yet, Rocco. TechPowerUp's post doesn't give a price or a release date, so those paws stay empty for now. Fine, moving on. Over in workstation land, Gigabyte has detailed its WRX90 A I top motherboard, and it takes up to 2 terabytes of R A M!
E C C DDR5 memory, for A M D Ryzen Threadripper P R O 9000 W X and 7000 W X chips. Here's Notebookcheck's story: it's aimed at A I workstations, and there's a two-fan cooler just for the memory. Wait, fans just for the R A M? Does that actually help? Here's the big number. Gigabyte claims it can cut memory temperatures by up to 43 degrees Celsius. That's Gigabyte's own claim, though, not a test result.
Okay, fair. But seven PCIe 5.0 slots, and at Computex 2026 they showed it running nine G P Us! Two of those nine were hooked up externally, through the board's mcio connectors. And Gigabyte hasn't announced a price or a retail date. Okay, okay, no shopping today. That's the latest from TechPowerUp and Notebookcheck, and the full posts are linked with this episode. See you next time!
