Welcome to Tech After Dark, I'm Nova, with the latest from the last few hours. It's a two-Lenovo kind of show, and we're starting with a budget gaming laptop. And I'm Rocco, and I want it already! The Lenovo L O Q Essential 15IRH11 just landed in the U S and Canada. "Just landed." Notebookcheck says it quietly launched in Europe almost two months ago. So, Rocco, what's inside? Ooh, okay. A 10-core Intel Core 7 230H, plus Nvidia's GeForce R T X 3050 with 4 gigabytes.
Running at 75 watts, and that's including 15 watts of Dynamic Boost. Notebookcheck says that makes it less powerful than the cheaper L O Q Essential 15IRX11 in many cases. Wait, the cheaper one wins? Okay, okay. But the screen's 165 hertz, 1200p and 300 nits! Meaning it redraws 165 times a second, so it feels nice and smooth. The price? 1,476.99 dollars in the U S, and 1,910.99 Canadian dollars in Canada.
Plus 16 gigabytes of DDR5 R A M, a 512 gigabyte S S D and a 60 watt hour battery. And the memory's upgradeable! Over in monitor land, Lenovo's new L32 to 4e popped up on its spec site, psref, before any official release. A budget monitor! Nova, how big and how fast? Notebookcheck calls it 32-inch in one line and 31-inch in another. It's 1080p at 144 hertz, with A M D FreeSync. And a V A panel with 4,000 to 1 contrast, and 4 millisecond response times in Extreme Mode.
Sweet! Now the catch. The ports are just hdmi 1.4 and V G A. No DisplayPort, no U S B hub, not even a 3.5 millimeter jack. V G A? Okay, that's fair, that's a throwback. So what's it cost? Nobody knows yet: pricing and availability haven't been announced. For scale, the smaller L24 to 4e is currently 108 dollars on Amazon. Both stories came from Notebookcheck, and the full posts are linked with the episode.
See you next time!
