Whoa. Thirty-five grams? That's a mouse made of wishes. Reportedly. By a leaker. Maybe hold the wishes. It's the Hitscan Hyperlight X, a tiny wireless mouse for competitive gamers chasing the lightest, fastest clicks. Price not announced. This is Tech After Dark: we read six sources, watched zero hands-ons, because none exist. Zero hands touched. New thing one: the main buttons go mechanical, with S P D T switches!

Normally closed, so a click fires the instant the circuit opens. Less travel, less delay. Thing two: it's reportedly lighter! Down from thirty-nine grams on the original! About thirty-five to thirty-seven, depending on skates. And that's the leaker's number, not Hitscan's. Thing three: the 8K receiver comes in the B O X. No borrowing required! On the original, you bought that dongle separately. That's a genuine fix.

Plus a newer PAW3950 sensor and a new Nordic chip! Same shape, though. If the old Hyperlight fits your hand, so will this. Specs, in plain words. Eight thousand hertz means it reports to your P C eight thousand times a second. Eight thousand? Okay, but what does that mean for me? Your aim updates as fast as possible. And this time, no extra purchase. And at that weight, you'd barely feel it on fast swipes!

Here's the trade. The battery shrinks from 250 to 200 milliamp-hours to save weight. Oh no. So, fewer hours? Probably fewer between charges. Hitscan hasn't given battery-life figures. Okay, what did the reviewers say? Nobody's reviewed the X yet. But PCWorld reviewed the original, same shape, and liked it a lot. Quote: impresses as an ultra-light gaming mouse for performance fans. I knew it! PCWorld also flagged five buttons, no Bluetooth, and an open base that collects dust.

Dust? On something this shiny? That's a crime. And their sharpest line: the 8K dongle costs extra and shortens battery life. The X fixes the first half. Fine. The price. How much do I need to, borrow? Unknown. The original is 89.99 dollars. A leaker says launch is October 28th. Nova's Catch: no price, and the weight and date both come from a leaker, not Hitscan. Okay, okay. That's fair. Rivals! Razer's Viper V4 Pro: 159.99 dollars, with 180 hours of battery at 1 kHz!

At 49 grams. Logitech's G Pro X2 Superstrike is 179.99 dollars and about 61. Nearly twice the X, if the leak holds. Verdict: wait. No price, no reviews, and a smaller battery. I'm a six. I'm a seven! It's tiny! After Dark Score: six point five, first on our gaming board! First of one. Don't let it go to your head. Too late. It's already gone to my head.
