Whoa. A sixteen-inch X P S with Nvidia's brand-new chip and an S D card slot? Gorgeous. Also nearly four grand, with just 512 gigs inside. It's Dell's X P S 16 Creator Edition, from 3,799.99 dollars, for video editors and local A I. It wants your MacBook Pro money. This is Tech After Dark: five write-ups read, zero hands-ons watched, zero hands touched. Three new things. One: Nvidia's own R T X Spark chip, C P U and graphics in one package!

Up to twenty C P U cores and 6,144 graphics cores. It's Dell's first laptop on it. Two: up to 128 gigs of memory, shared, like a MacBook Pro! One big pool for C P U and graphics, so huge A I models and video timelines have room. And three, the ports came back! S D card reader and hdmi! Camera card or T V, no dongle. Honestly? Best news here. Oh, and Dell claims up to one petaflop of A I power! Dell's number.

Nobody has tested it. 'Up to' is doing a lot of lifting. Fine. Specs. What's the screen mean for me? Sixteen-inch 3.2K tandem oled. It redraws 120 times a second, so scrolling's smooth, and drops to 20 when idle to save battery. And Notebookcheck says H D R highlights hit 1,600 nits! Battery's 99 watt-hours. That's big, right? The biggest most airlines allow. And it charges over U S B-C. Plus it's only 17.8 millimeters thick!

Thinner than my snack stash. And over two kilos. Thin, not light. Your backpack will notice. Okay, okay. What did the reviewers find? Digital Trends calls it a real MacBook Pro challenger. Their best line: 'Clearly, Dell isn't being subtle about who it's targeting.' Subtle is overrated. Shiny is forever. StorageReview asks if a body that thin can keep the chip cool enough for Nvidia's numbers. And Tech Insider says no independent benchmarks or battery tests exist yet.

Oh no. Okay, price. Hit me gently. 3,799.99 dollars to start, and Dell sells it worldwide now. With 128 gigs and a 2 terabyte drive? 6,999.99 dollars. Nova's Catch: that base model has just 512 gigs of storage. Video projects eat that for breakfast. Fine. I'll just add more memory later. Nope. Soldered. Pick your size up front. Rivals? Asus ProArt P16, 2,799.99 dollars. Health OmniBook Ultra 16, 3,199.99 dollars, same base chip, ships November 4th.

A thousand bucks less for the Asus? Where's the catch? Twenty-four gigs of memory to Dell's thirty-two. That's what the extra cash buys. Verdict! Seven and a half from me. That screen, those ports, I want it. Six. Wait for real benchmarks and battery tests. After Dark Score: 6.8, our first laptop, so it tops the board. Number one! So I'm ordering one. For research. Of one. Close the cart, Rocco. See you next time.
